Christie’s presents No Time Like Present, an exclusively online auction with the first NFT sale in Asia offered by an international auction house.
This sale is set to set another milestone in the history of Crypto Arte, which opens offers from 17 to 28 September.
Highlights of the sale will include a group of very rare CryptoPunks created by Larva Labs, as well as Yuga Labs ‘Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Larva Labs’ latest creation “Meebits”.
This auction also marks the first time that BAYC and Meebits will be offered outside of any NFT trading platform.
Christie’s pioneered the inauguration of NFT in the global auction market and is engaging with auctions and unprecedented collaborations to lead this entirely new category of collecting with $ 93.2 million in sales in the last year alone.
Christie’s was the first international auction house to sell an NFT of a purely digital work of art, hosting Beeple artist Beeple’s groundbreaking online sale “Everydays” which reached $ 69 million and set the record for the work. most expensive ever sold online.
This was followed by Larva Labs ‘iconic Cryptopunks sales of $ 17 million and FEWOCiOUS’ digital artwork which totaled $ 2.16 million.
According to the latest data, Christie’s presence in the NFT market has attracted a younger and newer audience to its site: 73% of NFT sales subscribers are new collectors, with an average age of 38 (13 years younger than at the average age of customers in other sales) who then showed their interest in purchasing works by blue chip artists.
