Lehmann Maupin Gallery accepts payments in cryptocurrencies thanks to GEMINI
The world of art is getting closer and closer to the crypto one and there are many initiatives that prove it.
After several years, auction houses have begun to accept payments in cryptocurrencies for the purchase of NFT works and, later, also physical ones.
The choice was made to increase the customer base, in particular of the generation of Millennial collectors, more easily exposed to a diversification of their assets which also includes a strong interest in the crypto world.
This is an insight that is depopulating within the big art galleries: recently, Pace Gallery announced the launch of a new NFT sales platform for their gallery’s artist roaster, followed by the fresh announcement of yesterday of the Lehmann Maupin Gallery, which confirms that it has started a partnership with Gemini, a platform created by the techno-twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, to make payment in cryptocurrencies possible.
