The explosive drop of Cai Guo Qiang with TR Lab
The countdown to a new iconic auction has begun. This is a sale organized specifically for the debut of the TR Lab, platform, which for the occasion collaborated with the artist Cai Guo-Qiang, famous for creating his works through the use of explosives.
Transient Eternity — 101 Ignitions of Gunpowder Paintings is the name of the NFT created by Cai, on sale starting July 14 for only 48 hours and visible until August 14, 2021.
The corpus is made up of 100 moments of ignition of gunpowder, the artist’s favorite artistic medium, which together form a single NFT, while the 101st moment will be created separately as an additional NFT.
The income generated by the auction will be donated to two realities: the first half will be donated to the Rockbund Art Museum, on the occasion of its tenth anniversary, to favor its development both from a museum point of view and as regards research on the digital art, the other half will go to the Cai Foundation, in support of the Cai Fellowship Program of the Asian Cultural Council (ACC), which funds young Chinese artists studying in the United States.
